AZSCI 2020 Fundraiser Announcement
As of May 19, 2020
The volunteer board of the Arizona Chapter of Safari Club International has been working diligently to decide what, if anything, can be done for our 2020 fundraising event scheduled for June 27th. We have been working closely with our hosts at the Loew’s Ventana Canyon Resort and monitoring information coming from Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We will continue to monitor that information and will follow every guideline to ensure that we are keeping everyone involved healthy and safe.
We are excited to announce that the current plan is to hold a modified fundraising event at Loew’s Ventana Canyon Resort on June 27th. “Modified” in this case means that we will be hosting a more casual event than our traditional banquet to ensure social distance guidelines can be followed.
What You Will Not See This Year:
-400 people in one banquet room having a sit-down dinner
-A live auction with hunts, fishing trips and vacations that would require travel in the next six to nine months
What You Will See This Year:
-A series of open areas that allow for our guests to engage in the festivities while practicing social distancing
-A longer timeframe to view items being raffled and select silent auction items on the day of the event
-The ability for those that do not want to attend the event in person to bid on silent auction items and to have raffle tickets submitted on their behalf
- “Just the Good Stuff!” We asked what people wanted to win, and you have answered! You can expect plenty of chances to win rifles, shotguns and handguns in raffles and other games. Click here to see the current (and regularly updated) list of guns!
We will also have some specialty hunting gear and a few other surprises. The silent auction will include the AZGFD Commissioners’ tag for bear.
Raffle ticket packages and information on rooms available will also be posted in the next few days. Please keep in mind that the COVID-19 situation is constantly changing, and we may need to modify this event even further with little to no warning.
We cannot thank our chapter members and supporters enough. Your generosity has allowed us to fund a great number of projects in Arizona, including or Annual Deer Camp and Junior Jack Kamp, for the last 45 years. We look forward to offering those camps and completing other wildlife conservation projects for many years to come.
Because of your support at the banquet and special drawings we will be able to have another great year of Junior Camps and conservation projects that benefit the wild animals and wild places of Southern Arizona.
We thank you for your support of our mission programs throughout the year. Your generosity makes a big difference for the future of hunting and conservation.
