Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2019 Junior Deer Camp! We had a tremendous turnout with a great group of young hunters!
Our next event will be the Junior Jack Kamp Camp south of Three Points. Camp setup and hunter orientation will be on Friday, March 6. The chapter will provide dinner on the 6th, breakfast and lunch on the 7th and breakfast on the 8th. Dinner on the Saturday, March 7th, is a potluck, so bring your favorite dish to share!
The chapter will also provide mentors to help in the field all day on the 7th and the morning of the 8th. Hunters will want to be back in camp by 11:00am on the 8th for prizes awarded by Arizona Game and Fish!
To register for this camp, please contact Bobby Boido at either 520-490-8367 or email@example.com.
Junior Deer Camp-2019
The Junior Deer camp is an annual event our chapter puts on to help get youth excited about hunting and the outdoors. Thanks to everyone who made our 2019 Junior Deer Camp another successful event! We look forward to seeing you again in 2020! We will have mentors and guides as well as assistance from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. We try to partner every hunter with a guide if they need one.
The chapter provides most of the food and drinks; we provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on Opening Day, breakfast and lunch on the second day of the hunt with dinner being a potluck* and breakfast on the third day of the hunt.
*Of course, we will always have our delicious Dutch oven desserts! So please bring a main dish or side dish to share with the camp on Saturday night!
Our camp location is big enough for all camping types from a tent to a fifth wheel so bring the whole family!
If you have attended our camp in the past please note that we changed locations two years ago:
The camp is now located on the Buenos Aires Refuge, at approximately Milepost 4, west of the town of Arivaca. The best landmark to use for the entrance is a communications tower on the south side of the Arivaca-Sasabe Highway.
The youth hunts are located in units 36A, 36B, and 36C. Also remember that if you are drawn for the youth hunt you can purchase a companion javelina tag to go with the deer tag. Please contact Arizona Game and Fish to purchase the tag.
In order to participate in the camp, the hunter needs to have completed the Arizona Game and Fish Hunter Safety Course. Also, please make sure that the hunter is comfortable shooting their rifle and it is sighted in.
If you have any questions or to register for the camp please contact us, we can assist in getting put in for the hunts, as well as tips on sighting in your rifle. We look forward to seeing you at camp!
